Peace sounds in the Sauerland: Canteremo is looking for peace together
In a moving musical series, the vocal ensemble Canteremo asks for peace and invites you to three concerts in the Sauerland. Under the direction of church music director Gerd Weimar, a varied program with important works from 400 years of music history will be presented in the coming weeks. The performances will take place on November 9th at 7 p.m. in the Arnsberg resurrection church, on November 10th at 5 p.m. in the Königsmünster Abbey in Meschede and on November 17th at 6 p.m. in the parish church of Maria Queen of Peace in Oberrödinghausen. Admission is free, but donations are requested for choir work.
A profound musical examination of peace, including rarely listed works, such as Rudolf Mauersberger's “Motette von Peace”, and pieces by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Heinrich Schütz is planned. These concerts not only offer musical experiences, but also a platform for reflection and hope in times of war and suffering. The appearances of the ensemble, which consists of 19 talented singers and was founded during Corona pandemic, promise an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
