Weimar celebrates new vice world champions in fin swimming
The city of Weimar can be proud of its talented fin swimmer Justus Mörstedt, who showed an impressive performance at the World Championships in Belgrade. Mörstedt secured not only one, but two medals and thus brought great joy to his hometown.
With a well-rehearsed season, Mörstedt won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 meter fin swimming discipline. Together with his teammates Marek Leipold from Erfurt, Niklas Loßner and Max Poschart, he reached the goal behind the teams from Colombia and South Korea.
The Weimar native, who now lives in Leipzig, studies and starts for SC DHfK Leipzig, was also able to convince as a single athlete. He had previously set up a world record over 200 meters of route diving and took one thing at the World Championships in Belgrade. He secured the silver medal and not only brought himself to himself, but also his hometown Weimar.
Another incentive for Mörstedt and his teammates is the qualification for the World Games 2025, which are considered the Olympic Olympic sports. At the World Cup in Belgrade, they want to qualify for this important event in the relay competitions and in individual sports.
