Investment in the future: EVM group leads regional networks into the digital era
"The EVM group is investing in the future of the networks"
The EVM group has started an ambitious project called "Kabel 4. Plus" to make its networks fit for the future. This project affects the company's telecommunications infrastructure and is an important step towards energy and heat transition. By replacing old copper connections through the latest fiber optic cables, the EVM group would like to ensure that its power grid can meet the increasing requirements such as wind and solar parks or heat pumps. This project also serves to monitor and control the distribution network locations more efficiently in order to ensure network stability.
The investment amount amounts to 10 million euros and comprises a total of 32 construction phases, which should be completed by 2027. A special focus is on the Höhr-Grenzhausen, Montabaur and other Westerwald municipalities as well as in and around Koblenz. A remarkable milestone is set within the A 48 motorway bridge between Koblenz and Bendorf, where technical trainees of the EVM group disassemble the old cables and replace it with the new fiber optic technology.
The use of fiber optics offers numerous advantages in terms of speed, safety and stability of the network. Patrick Zerwas emphasizes the importance of this investment and compares technological progress with the switch from the turntable phone to the smartphone. The EVM group thus sets a sign of the future viability of its infrastructure and its willingness to meet the steadily increasing demands.
The project "Kabel 4. Plus" is not only a technological leap forward, but also proof of the innovative strength and willingness to use the EVM group as a regional energy and service provider. By investing in modern fiber optic technology, the company paves the way for a reliable and future -proof energy supply in the region.
