New mourning group in Büdingen: Support for those affected from September
As part of the Hospizhilfe Büdinger Land, a new mourning group in Büdingen starts on September 27, which offers grieving support. This initiative is particularly important because the loss of a loved one often leads to a feeling of loneliness. The participants are invited to share their experiences without fear of evaluation or pressure and to experience community in a protected space.
a room for mourning together
In the mourning groups of the hospice aid, those affected can find comfort in a safe environment. The certified mourning companions Petra Albus and Ursula Pillar-Zimmermann will lead the meetings and have the goal that every participant feels comfortable and safe. "Grief is a condition, no problem. Therefore there is no solution, but you can learn to deal with it," said Albus.
social isolation
The loss of a partner or a nearby relative often leads to social isolation. Friends and acquaintances rarely ask about the condition because they are unsure how to deal with the new Situation. "The days are somehow filled, but in the evening alone the grief strikes with full force," Pillar-Zimmermann describes the experience of many grievers.
a constant support
The origin of this grief group reacts to the needs of many that long for a structured exchange. At the meetings that are supposed to take place every two weeks, personal topics are discussed, which are often difficult for mourners, such as the Christmas season, which can be a special challenge. "This year we want to survive Christmas and the turn of the year together," adds Albus.
open and honest conversations
The participants have the opportunity to always comment on the familiar framework. "Everyone can say everything here, but you can just be there and be silent," says Albus and confirms how important it is to express real feelings without conviction. People who mourn around a heart find a room in this group where they can not only address their grief, but also other feelings such as anger or envy, which is a liberation for many.
address the topic of dying
In addition to the mourning group, the hospice aid offers a last aid course on August 31. This course helps to reduce fears and uncertainties in dealing with death. Here the participants learn how to make dying support and what it means to say goodbye. "In the courses we encourage to turn to dying, because care and humanity is what we all need the most at the end of life," explains the hospice aid.
Invitation to participate
The new grief group is open to everyone who mourns a loved one, regardless of religious orientation or the time of loss. Interested parties can register for a preliminary discussion on 01 51/10 32 68. The participation fee for the eight meetings is 40 euros. It is recommended to report early to secure space in this valuable support group.
