Premiere in Wiesbaden: Young talents bring what you want on stage!
The young state musical at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden starts with an exciting premiere in the 2024/25 season: On October 25, the musical "Twelthfth Night (what you want)" celebrates its performance in the small house under the direction of Iris Limbarth. On the basis of Shakespeare's timeless work, the turbulent action is developing around the twin sister Viola, which strands after a shipwreck in Illyria and accepts the identity of her supposedly drowned brother. This new adaptation of Kwame Kwei Armah and Shaina Taub illuminates modern topics such as identity and gender roles and particularly appeals to the youth.
SHAINA TAUB, already known for her success on Broadway, has brought her musical talents into this contemporary work, which is peppered with catchy pop and jazz elements. The story not only promises confusion and comedy, but also a lot of catchy tunes, as Iris Limbarth noticed enthusiastically. The play, which celebrated its German -language premiere in Munich in November 2022, promises an exciting staging that focuses on the young talents of the state musical, supported by an experienced creative team.
