Tradition meets modernity: the Naurod bakery is blooming again
a new phase of life for the Nauroder Backhaus
The small community of Naurod has taken a significant step towards community traditions with the reopening of its historic bakery of Backes. This place, which is a symbol of belonging for many residents, has opened its doors again after a comprehensive renovation on Thursday evening.
a place of community
The bakery in Naurod is not just a simple building; It is a place where valuable memories and traditions are kept alive. In 2023 the inauguration ceremony took place, to which numerous citizens came to bake bread together and replace old stories. The anticipation fueled by the preparations, the organizers started at 5:00 a.m. Ingo Best, the 2nd chairman of IG Naurod, and Bernd Beelschmidt, the local baking master, ensured that everything was ready to heat the oven on time.
tradition meets modern
The bakery, formerly a syringe house and later unused, shows how important it is to revive cultural roots. This renewal was not a coincidence, but the result of years of efforts by the community. The renovation, which was supposed to cost around 115,000 euros, turned out to be an urgent need to make the listed building shine in new splendor. The old oven has been restored and now offers space for up to 50 Laibe bread on optimal heat.
a festival of memories
Even before World War II, the bakery was a central point of village life. The residents regularly baked bread and the residual heat was used to conjure up sweet treats like the popular Nauroder Brockelplatzen. This tradition is still well remembered by many older people in the community. The return of the bakery represents an important element of cultural identity and strengthens the sense of community among the residents.
outlook for new traditions
With the reopening of the back, the community is already planning the next big festival: On August 17th, the backdes festival will take place, in which the fragrance of freshly baked wood -fired bread will pull through the streets. These celebrations are not only a tribute to the past, but also a way for the younger generation to learn the art of bread baking and to keep the traditions alive.
a lighthouse of culture
The Nauroder Backhaus is now a lively part of the community and a place where young and old come together to create memories and to maintain past traditions. It offers a platform for education and community where children from the daycare center and primary school have the opportunity to actively participate in the baking process. Baking is therefore not only a craft, but an experience that connects and welds people in Naurod.
The return of the bakery is more than the revival of an old craft; It is a step into a common future in which traditions are preserved and new experiences are created. Perhaps the Nauroder Brockelplatz will soon move through the streets and continue to enrich the community with delicious memories.
