Wiesbaden reaches through: buses with cameras hunting false parkers!
In a determined step, the municipal transport company Eswe Verkehr has now opened the fight against false parkers on bus traces in Wiesbaden! With special front cameras, which were installed in 14 out of a total of 300 buses, bus drivers can now take photos of vehicles at the push of a button that block the bus traces. The camera not only records the vehicle and the license plate, but also documents exactly time and location. These evidence images are then transmitted directly to the traffic authorities, which then impose fines.
Originally, this project was supposed to start last year, but data protection concerns had delayed an introduction. Fortunately, the Hessian data protection officer has now given the green light, such as www.chip.de reported. The new measure aims to increase the safety in traffic and to relieve bus traffic - an urgently needed step in the densely populated city center of Wiesbaden!
