Woyzeck in the pop robe: a spectacular theater experience in Wiesbaden!
Two weeks after the spectacular opening weekend, the Wiesbaden State Theater delights with a fresh staging of Büchner Woyzeck, which is performed in a modern pop style. Directed by Stefan Pucher, the drama, which is intended for the 200th time of the execution of Christian Woyzeck, shines in new light and is particularly aimed at a younger audience. The stage design promises an impressive experience: a simple black stage is framed by dark fantasy landscapes and impressive LED boards, while the actors appear with their own rap.
Abdul Aziz al Khayat, who shines in the title role, brings Woyzeck's conflict between responsibility and excessive demands and impresses with Tabea Buser as Marie, who is staged as a strong, modern woman. The 80-minute performance provided thundering applause-a real theater hit at the Wiesbaden State Theater, which scores with strong statements about the current current events.
