Organic or not organic? Grill costs in comparison: This is what a study by the institute of German economy says

The grilling time is there and many people are already planning their next barbecue evenings. But did you know that organic meat and vegan replacement products on the grill are more expensive than conventional grill goods? The Institute of German Economy has calculated that a sample grill basket costs about 80 percent more than a basket with conventional products for four people with organic food.

The main reason for the price difference is mainly in the organic meat, which has a significant impact on the total price. Bratwursts and bio-quality battle sausages and beef steaks are significantly more expensive. But the costs for grill supplements such as vegetables, tomatoes and salad are also noticeably higher in organic quality. However, grilling with organic meat is not only more expensive, but also more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Nevertheless, there is an alternative: a vegan grill basket without organic quality is a little more expensive than a conventional meat-containing basket, but significantly cheaper than the organic version. With an average of 8.20 euros per person for the vegan option, the price is still in the affordable area.

grilling with organic meat may be more expensive, but it is also a conscious and sustainable pleasure. From a health and ecological point of view, it is an investment in a better future for us and our planet. So let's heat the grill and enjoy in a sustainable way!
