Secret history: News about the forgotten mikwe in Worms!

On Thursday, October 24th, the Raschi-Haus is expecting a special lecture by Dr. Heribert Feldhaus and Dr. Gerold Bönnen, who deals with a fascinating piece of Worms history. Under the title "A 'second' Wormser Mikwe: facts, questions and considerations about a find 1930/31", the two experts will shed light on the almost forgotten mikwe in the area of the rear Judengasse.

Over 80 years after her first discovery, the mysterious ritual bath, which existed in addition to the well -known medieval mikwe, is now rediscovered. The combination of construction research and the evaluation of historical written sources as well as photographs conveys an extended knowledge of the once flowering Jewish community in Worms.
