The city of Worms invites interested parties to an exciting information evening, in which the new basic training for future tour guides is presented. On Wednesday, September 11th, potential participants can find out about the details of the course at 6 p.m. in the Volkshochschule (VHS) Worms. This initiative is not only a step for the prospective tour guide, but also an answer to the growing demand for tours in this historically important city.

Worms is known for its cultural treasures and architectural highlights. The city has a long, multifaceted story that received another boost in 2021 through its award as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Jewish sites. The associated popularity attracts thousands of visitors every year who use the range of interesting guest guides to learn more about the city.

Information on the training course

In order to do justice to the increasing interest, the Tourist Information Worms in cooperation with the Worms Guide (IWG) and the VHS Worms have developed a qualified training program. The course will begin and extend over a period of six months on Wednesday, October 2. The candidates will usually train all day from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on set Saturdays.

The information event is presented by Sandra Wilhelm, the coordinator of the course. Together with representatives of the IWG and the VHS, she will present the training content in detail. This practical training is the first step towards certification as a guided guider in accordance with the standards of the Federal Association of Guide Guide in Germany e.V. (BVGD).

Registration for the participants is possible until Wednesday, September 18. Interested parties can register for the course on the VHS Worms website. This not only opens up individual development perspectives for future tour guides, but also contributes to enriching the tourist offer in Worms.
