Music and love: The harmonious marriage of the OTTS in Aalen
aalen. Love is the focus of the charming city of Aalen: Karin and Gerhard Ott, a musical couple of a special kind, report on their many years of relationship, which is not only characterized by romance, but also by passion for music. With a smile in Café Samocca, you reflect on the beginnings of your love and the importance of music in your life. "Our connection is like a well -coordinated orchestra," says Gerhard Ott, and his wife Nods in agreement.
The two originally come from Ellwangen, where their paths crossed in the early 1980s. "It started at a skiing start of the Ellwanger ski school," recalls Gerhard. Karin was part of the ski instructor team while Gerhard took over the musical entertainment. This was the first delicate start that later resulted in a deeper relationship. However, the true spark jumped over to Karin's solo singing in the church during her joint rehearsals. "The chemistry was right," says Karin. "We not only harmonized musically, but also human," added Gerhard and laughs.
music as an elixir of life
The couple still accompanies the music in their everyday life. Together they head several music projects, including the duo "Kir Royal" and the quartet "Farbklaang". They are also involved as a conductor at the Choral Association Singerkranz Aalen-Hofherrnweiler. "Music connects us in a special way," explains Karin. "Whether teaching or in leisure time, we enjoy every minute in which we make music together."
The various musical genres have enriched their common everyday life. "Whether classical, pop, jazz or rock - every facet brings new colors into our lives," explains Gerhard. You will also find similarities in the teaching profession, even if you teach at different schools. "For us, music is the key to get in touch with the students," says Karin. "It opens doors and hearts," adds Gerhard.
a strong team
The relationship between the OTTS is not only loving, but also warm and respectful. "We never argued about the little things. It's just nice that we get on so well," says Karin. Gerhard explains: "It is like making music: you have to be able to rely on each other alone to stay in time." This harmony is not only shown in its relationship, but also in the way they make decisions. Pro- and contra lists are an integral part of their family life, and both appreciate the views of the other.
In particular, they appreciate the different strengths together. "Karin has a tireless optimism that inspires me," says Gerhard. "And I admire his ability to always find a way out," adds Karin. Their trust in each other is strong: "Jealousy was never an issue. We know that we can rely on each other," emphasizes Gerhard.
You have created a home in Aalen and enjoy the advantages of the city. "Aalen is our love, Ellwangen stays our home," concludes Karin. They rave about the beautiful landscapes, the cultural offers and the many locations. "The Samocca is one of our favorite places, we just feel comfortable here," she reports and nods each other.
a little happiness in life
The couple now lives in Dewangen, where the two have managed to close their neighbors and the surrounding area into their heart. "Practice in a rental apartment was challenging, but we mastered it - our soundproof cabin gave us a lot of fun," says Gerhard. "We like to live here and our neighbors are just great," adds Karin. Their common motto could be summarized with the words: "Being together, making music together, laughing together - that's how we live."
"You win again, Bee Gees, that was our first dance," says Gerhard, and Karin smiles nostalgically. Music remains a central element of her relationship that accompanies the two door to the door, no matter where your life leads it.
In the Aalen region, the topic of cultural identity is of great importance. The city has a long history that is strongly shaped by the geographical location and the associated economic and social structures. Historically, Aalen was a center of trade and culture. The influence of music and art in the daily lifestyle of the residents is not only reflected in the OTTS, but also in numerous events and institutions that are committed to promoting culture.
The city regularly organizes festivals that offer a platform for local musicians and artists. This includes the Aalen Music summer festival and the Aalener Jazz nights that not only promote local talents, but also attract national artists. These cultural events create a strong sense of community and contribute to the identity of the city. In addition to music, other art forms, such as theater and visual art, also have their place in the city, which contributes to the cultural diversity.
The role of education in Aalen
Education plays a central role in Aalen, especially if you look at the Ott family's professional backgrounds. Both partners work in school and thus show a strong commitment to training young people. In Germany, the educational landscape is strongly structured, and schools in Aalen benefit from close cooperation with the community and cultural organizations. This not only promotes school education, but also enables cultural projects that integrate students and teachers.
The Copernikus-Gymnasium, on which Gerhard Ott works as deputy headmaster, integrates many creative subjects into the curriculum. This is shown by the regular music and art projects that encourage students to develop their creative talents. The Kappelberg School, where Karin Ott teaches, also has a wide range of lessons that include art and music, and thus promotes the creative potential of the students.
Cultural initiatives and their influence
One of the most important cultural initiatives in Aalen is the Choir Association Singer wreath Aalen-Hofherrnweiler, in which Karin and Gerhard Ott are active as conductors. Choirs play a crucial role in the city, not only for musical education, but also for social cohesion. These community activities create close bonds between the people who go beyond pure music and promote friendships and networks.
Overall, it can be seen that Aalen is a city that connects tradition and modernity. This is not only illustrated by the commitment of people such as the OTTS, but also by the large number of cultural events that enrich life in Aalen. Such cultural and musical initiatives strengthen cohesion and promote the development of a positive cultural identity in the region.
