New technology in Aalen car parks: Experience with license plate recognition

parking without coin in Aalens parking garages, the new system in the test

An innovative license plate recognition recently introduced in the Aalen parking garages to replace the traditional coin system. The effectiveness of this new technology in Spitalstrasse was checked in a self -experiment.

The new technology uses state-of-the-art cameras to capture the license plates of the vehicles when entering and extending. There were initial difficulties in some vehicles, but after an adjustment, the system worked smoothly. The trial of the ticket and paying remained unchanged, but some improvements were introduced to make the entire process more efficient.

The head of the technical service at the Aalen Stadtwerke, Martin Kalde, emphasized that one of the main reasons for this technical modernization were the upcoming setting of the old coin system and the impossibility of receiving spare parts for the previous systems. This step should not only enable the parking customer, but also to the municipal utilities, to benefit from the new technological possibilities.

The reactions of the customers to the new system were largely positive. Many praised the faster processing and the smooth process. In addition, the possibility of registering the license plate enables convenient and precise billing of the parking processes.

In the future, it is planned to expand this system to all other parking garages in the city in order to ensure a consistent and user -friendly experience. The changeover to license plate recognition marks an important step in the modernization of the urban park infrastructure in Aalen.
