The district of Ammerland is recognized for the sixth time in a row as the safest region in Lower Saxony. This emerges from current data published on March 17, 2025. The number of registered crimes has dropped last year, while the clearance rate remains pleasantly high at 60.45 percent.

However, a worrying trend is evident in domestic violence, which increase by 21.81 percent and increased from 188 to 229 cases. 107 cases were simple bodily harm and 52 cases coercion and threats. Experts interpret this as a possible consequence of an increased reporting and social awareness of domestic violence.

In addition, the statistical analysis shows that the number of suspects under the age of 21 dropped from 398 to 310.
