Narrative café in Ruppertsberg: Favorite dishes and culinary memories

Ruppertsberg. On Tuesday, September 10th, a special event will take place in Ruppertsberg, which makes the hearts of seniors beat faster. The next narrative café, organized by the community sister plus, Vera Götz, is devoted to the topic "Essen keeps body and soul together-favorite dishes". At 2.30 p.m., all interested senior citizens are cordially invited to the library, Raiffeisenstraße 3. Here you can exchange your personal eating stories and share culinary memories.

The narrative café aims to find out the deep roots of food in our lives. The organization describes how the "forgotten" recipes of home can arouse memories that are often lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. "Eating is more than just food. It means community, enjoyment and sharing traditions," says Vera Götz. Among the questions that are to be discussed this afternoon are: What were childhood favorite dishes? Which dishes were often prepared? And what could be the reason why the special taste of the dishes of mother or grandmother cannot be reproduced, even if all the ingredients are involved?

Culinary memories and traditions

"We all want to encourage them to bring their stories and favorite recipes with them," Götz continues and sees the event a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas about the mother tongue of the kitchen. The narrative café could prove to be a place of memory and the connection, in which each participant not only shares its tastes, but also his experiences and encounters with food.

Registration for the event is not necessary, which makes it easier to spontaneously stop by and participate. Vera Götz will be happy to answer any questions. It can be reached on 06322/961-9125 or 0151/18976130 as well as by email at vera.goetz@kreis-bad-duerkheim.de. If you also want to learn more about the work of the community sisters plus in the district, you will find various information online at www.kreis-bad-duerkheim.de/gemeindeschwester.

In times when community activities often represent a challenge, this narrative café is a valuable contribution to strengthening social contacts among seniors. The culinary memories not only promote the exchange, but also contribute to the preservation of traditions, which have often been handed down over generations. In Ruppertsberg, old stories can be told at the narrative café, new friendships are made and the enjoyment of the food is celebrated in all its variety.
