International students conquer Cottbus: Welcome to the summer semester!
The Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg welcomes a variety of exchange students in the 2025 summer semester. As part of the exchange programs Erasmus+ and Studexa, students from countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Brazil, China and many more have the opportunity to study in Cottbus and Senftenberg for one semester. This was emphasized by the BTU in a current press release, which also emphasizes the participation of students at German-Jordan University in a combined study and internship stay.
In order to make it easier for international students, a welcome event took place. This conveyed important information on the study organization by the International Relations Office and the organization of language courses that the university's language center offers. Various cultural offers and day trips are also planned to help the exchange students get to know the region better.
new startings and support offers
An additional highlight of the event was the presentation of the International Council of the Student Council (Stura). Here the new students received information about offers of the interest representation and an overview of planned campuse events. Furthermore, the local Erasmus initiative of the BTU, a group of committed students, was presented who help exchange students with orientation and organize events.
The welcome session, which took place in a relaxed atmosphere with pizza and getting to know each other, offered the students the opportunity to make their first contacts. The BTU is pleased to promote this international exchange and sees it an opportunity to strengthen the global academic community.
international exchange in focus
The international exchange is not only very important at the BTU. The Technical University of Berlin also provides information about various exchange opportunities for its students. In the brochure "Erasmus+ program application information 2025/2026", details on available remaining places for the summer semester 2026 and on faculty -specific requirements can be found. These initiatives not only promote intercultural understanding, but also to expand important personal skills that are more in demand in a globalized world than ever, as the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) emphasizes.
Study stays abroad offer numerous advantages, including getting to know new teaching and research approaches as well as the acquisition of intercultural skills. The BMBF supports these international programs through scholarships and other funding opportunities to facilitate the exchange of students and to strengthen the cooperation of German universities abroad.
In this way, Germany is positioned as an attractive host country for students from all over the world, which not only enriches academic discourse, but also contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists. In summary, it can be said that both the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and other universities in Germany show strong commitment to international exchange. The possibility of discussing topics across borders and making networks is an unaffordable profit for the students. For more information about the offers of the BTU, interested parties can visit the Official BTU page .
