Reich Citizens' ban: Great raid in Brandenburg and other federal states!

Oder-Spree, Brandenburg, Deutschland - On May 13, 2025, Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) banned the association "Kingdom of Germany". This step is considered a significant blow to the Reich Citizens' and Self-Manager scene in Germany. The association, which claims to have around 6,000 members, is accused of violating criminal laws and the constitutional order. In his assessment, Dobrindt emphasized that the members of the association spread anti -Semitic conspiracy counts and have built up economic criminal structures.

As part of the ban, the federal prosecutor arrested four men, including the “Supreme sovereign”, which was founded in Wittenberg in 2012, Peter Fitzek. The arrests were carried out in various federal states, including in Brandenburg. The searches of the association and residence facilities of leading members, with hundreds of emergency services, were used.

searches and arrests

The raids that took place in Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia aim to secure club assets and evidence for the anti-constitutional activities. The suspected suspects between the ages of 37 and 59 are to be brought before an investigative judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe. In addition to Germany, a suspect was also searched in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

Dobrindt emphasizes that the activities of the “Kingdom of Germany” undermine the legal system of the Federal Republic and endanger the monopoly of violence of the state institutions. These measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to counteract the growing Reich citizens' scene that has achieved a worrying extent in recent years.

ideology and social context

The ideology of the Reich citizens includes a wide range of anti -Semitic and racist beliefs that violate human dignity of the Basic Law. The Federal Constitutional Court has expressly stated that such ideologies do justice to anti -democratic ideas. Members reject the German participation and fundamental rights and believe in a supposed "foreign rule" by external powers.

The heterogeneous scene of the imperial citizens faces the challenge that their ideologies often hide behind legal terms. The judiciary is therefore confronted with difficult challenges, since these expressions make it difficult to recognize the motives and dangers in good time. According to the Federal Center for Political Education, the potential for violence in the ideology, which is often legitimized with an abstract enemy image and thus influences the public perception of movement.

The current arrests and the ban are part of the efforts of the state institutions to counter radicalization in the Reich Citizens' scene and to minimize potential threats to public security. In recent years, the activities and radicalization have increased within this scene, which requires an increased reaction.

Due to the targeted combating of these structures, politics is hoping for not only an improvement in the security situation, but also a stronger social engagement with the ideologies, which are deeply rooted in parts of the population. It remains to be seen how these measures will affect long-term perception and dynamics within the Reich Citizens' scene.
