A somewhat unusual incident caused a stir on Saturday evening, August 31, 2024, in the small town of Gielow, south of Malchin. At around 11:45 p.m., an attentive resident informed the police about a loud self -made vehicle that chugged through the streets of the village. A short time later, a police patrol set off to pursue the complaint.

When they arrived on the street on the Sonnenberg, the officials discovered the vehicle in question and were able to stop it quickly. A 57-year-old man sat at the wheel while a 53-year-old had taken a seat to support him while driving. He accelerated the vehicle and apparently also had a certain influence on the speed. The vehicle turned out to be a converted motorcycle of the Honda brand, which indicates creative but dangerous handicrafts. However, the two men did not seem able to be able to drive safely because they were both considerably alcoholic.

The breath alcohol tests showed worrying values: The 57-year-old from the Mecklenburg Lake District district had a blood alcohol content of 0.81 per thousand, while his companion from Saxony was even beyond the values permitted for road traffic. In order to document the exact values, blood samples were taken from both the driver and the passenger. According to initial information, the men consuming had previously attended a birthday party and were on the move with the intention of bringing other guests home. The police suspect that they might have left other people before they stopped by the authority, which caused additional confusion.

The self -made vehicle, which was clearly not approved for road traffic, was secured by the police to secure evidence. A towing company was consulted to remove the unconventional vehicle.
