Hyundai Santafe stolen in Werries: Police are looking for witnesses
in the city of Hamm, more precisely in the Uentrop district, a Hyundai Santa Fe in the color white was stolen by previously unknown perpetrators. The incident occurred on the night of Friday, September 6th, 10:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 7th, 7:45 a.m. The injured party, a 51-year-old man, had parked his vehicle on his own property when the thieves strike.
The stolen car had a modern Keyless GO system, a feature that could have made theft easier. This system enables vehicle owners to start the car without a key, which makes it easier for thieves to get access while they may attract less attention.

Such opportunities are particularly attractive for car thieves, as they are usually to strike in a short time and unobserved. The perpetrator could also have scouted the surrounding area beforehand to take the best time for theft.
The police have started the investigation and calls on the population for help. Witnesses who noticed suspects or activities in the night in question are asked to report. Information can be sent to the police at 02381 916-0 or by email to information.hamm@polizei.nrw.de.
car theft is a persistent problem, and the increase in such incidents shows that criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. The use of Keyless GO systems is convenient, but can also be a risk. Vehicle owners should be aware of the dangers and, if necessary, consider additional security systems to better protect their vehicles.
In recent years there has been an increase in stolen vehicles in Germany, which underlines the need to improve theft protection. However, it is not only the responsibility of the police, but also the car owner to prevent such incidents by taking proactive security measures. Security technology is progressing and vehicles are becoming increasingly complex, but that also means that thieves find new ways to overcome security measures.
The investigation into this special theft has not yet been completed and the police will publish further information if they are available. The residents of Hamm are called to be vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately.
