Chaos at school: student novel inspires with animal adventures!

On March 18, 2025, the high school in the sand wines presented its latest school house novel, which was created in collaboration with the Bremen Literature House. This novel is the result of creativity -promoting projects that have stimulated school students for several years. The book presentation took place in the Blumenthal library at the invitation of the volunteer Christiane Meyer.

The latest novel comes from class 9e and begins with an unusual permission: the students can bring their pets to class. This leads to chaotic scenes when several animals escaped and a girl is bitten by a rabbit, which was again bitten by a snake. This incident is infected by the girl and bites her classmates, who put each other in a similar chaos state. In the meantime, a student, distracted by her cell phone on the toilet, remains untouched by all the chaos.

a lively reading experience

The reading of the students was lively through effective performances and noises, which contributed to the fixed atmosphere in the library. The end of the reading left the listeners eagerly because the students do not reveal how the story ends. For several months, the students worked with their teachers Max Reuter-Pieper and Katharina Moussalli on the book, and Dr. Ian Watson, an accompanying writer, coordinated the writing groups and gave creative advice.

The deputy headmistress Andrea Merrath emphasized the festive atmosphere during the event and emphasized that many different cultures are represented at the high school, which makes the literary profile attractive for numerous students. The Advisory Board Blumenthal supported the project ideally and financially, and the school house novels contribute to the revival of the response to the title "Literaturstadt Bremen". The book costs five euros and is available via Schünemann-Verlag or directly in the library.

another successful school house novel

As part of the schoolhouse novels, the title "Drogen.Tod.Schuljahr 2018/2019" was also published, which linked various stories in a dialogical format, including four scenes and a short story. The stories deal with topics from drug trafficking to family stories and are distributed to places such as Bremen, Mexico and the USA. The text was created from the collaboration of students in class 10b of the high school on Leibnizplatz and the well -known writer Feridun Zaimoglu. Zaimoglu, who received numerous prices for his literary work, is also involved in this project as a writing coach.

The anthology "Drogen.Tod.Schuljahr 2018/2019" deals with topics such as the personal fight against drugs, journalistic efforts to uncover mafia structures and the personal stories of the protagonists. As with the school house novel of Class 9E, this band is also available for a price of five euros from Carl Schünemann Verlag and shows the commitment of the Bremen schools to promote literary creativity.
