Alba Berlin fails in Euroleague - hope for Wildcard wanks!
On the evening of April 10, 2025, the basketball team of Alba Berlin had to take another defeat in the Euroleague. The Berliners lost 63:72 against Paris, with 31:46 back at halftime. The defeat means that Alba concludes the main round as the bottom of the table and only achieved five victories this season. Now it is in the air whether the team will receive a wildcard for the next season in order to be able to take part in the Euroleague again.
In the first half, the Berliners did not find the right rhythm and quickly fell behind with double -digit points. Even when they were able to shorten the gap to seven points in the second quarter, there was another setback when the gap grew to 17 points. In the third quarter it took six minutes for Alba to finally score the first points. With an intermediate score of 51:31, you were already 20 points behind. In this section, the guests only get eight points, while Paris managed the lead to the end of the game. Justin Bean was the most successful thrower for Alba with 14 points, followed by David McCormack, who scored 12 points.

The Euroleague is about to be the decisive phase, because after the 33rd round there are already ten teams for the postseason. Olympiacos Piraeus, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Panathinaiko's actor Athens have qualified for the playoffs and occupy the first three places that secure the home advantage for them. However, these crucial rounds could come too late for Alba Berlin because the team is no longer able to enter the playoffs.
