Musical trip to Europe: Ittendorfer Verein inspires enthusiasm at the annual concert!
On December 8th, 2025, the hearts of music lovers in Ittendorf beat faster. On this St. Nicholas Day the... Ittendorf Music Association his eagerly awaited annual concert in the community center. Under the impressive theme “The journey begins,” the musicians took the audience on a musical tour through Europe.
The concert was moderated by the talented clarinetist Anja Hille, who led through the various musical stations with charming comments. The journey started in Switzerland with the piece “Swiss Folk” and continued to France, where the fine lifestyle of Montmartre was discussed with wine and cheese. The focus was also on cultural mixing and shared values within the European Community.
From the Czech Republic to Poland
After the break we went to the Czech Republic and the “Slavonic Rhapsody” was impressively performed, which familiarized the audience with the customs of the Lake Constance region. Austria was represented with a lively Viennese song and hints of a waltz, which created a happy atmosphere in the hall.
Also on the program was a piece about Luxembourg and Belgium: “Belgian Pictures”. Here Hille provided information about the important economic connection between these countries and Germany, especially the strategically important port of Antwerp. In Denmark, the traditional dance “Gammel Dans(k)” was introduced, garnished with a humorous quote from Heinz Erhardt. The crowning conclusion was a touching performance of “Mazury Rhapsody” from Poland, which evoked melancholic feelings of longing and home.
Tradition and community
The Ittendorf Music Association, founded in 1921, has developed over the years into an important part of local life. The club currently has 41 active members, ranging in age from 15 to 80, covering a wide age range. The community places great value on contact and camaraderie between generations and particularly promotes young talent through collaboration with the Bermatingen-Ittendorf-Ahausen community youth band.
Rehearsals for the annual concert began in September after the summer holidays. A wide range of musical styles is offered, from traditional brass music to modern mood music and musical melodies. In addition to the annual concert, the music club is also actively involved in many events throughout the year, such as outdoor concerts and after-work squats. Highlights are the Bockbierfest over three days and the musically celebrated Christmas concert.
Honors for long-time members
As part of the concert, honors were also given that underlined the members' commitment to the club. Anja Hille presented awards to Alexander Ainser, Carina Ehinger and Pia Knecht for ten years of active membership each. Angelika Weber also received the gold badge of honor for her 30 years of loyalty to the music club. Manuela Zurell emphasized the personal ties of the honored members and their important role in club life.
The commitment of the German Music Information Center is also important because it supports numerous organizations in musical life, so that regional and local music associations, like the one in Ittendorf, receive an additional platform for visibility.
The annual concert has once again proven that music not only connects people, but is also a journey into people's hearts. The Ittendorf Music Association will continue to be a guarantee for musical excellence and community spirit in the region.
