Lions Club Böblingen: Secure 5,000 euros for social projects!

Something exciting is happening in Böblingen! The Lions Club Böblingen-Schönbuch has started its initiative to support social projects and is offering financial help of up to 5,000 euros. These funds are aimed specifically at projects that make a sustainable contribution to the community, especially for children, young people and groups in need. So if you have a great project in mind, you should hurry up, because the application deadline is January 31, 2026. Applications can be sent easily by email schoenbuchloewe@lions-bbs.de be submitted.

As the KZBB reported, three projects that are particularly worthy of funding will be selected from the submitted projects. They can later look forward to the “Schönbuch Lions” awards ceremony in February or March 2026, where the gold, silver and bronze categories will be awarded. Since 2018, the Lions Club has already distributed over 35,000 euros to various social projects and institutions.

Projects in focus

The list of supported projects from 2025 is quite impressive: among other things, a biotope was created for a youth research center in energy and the environment. The outpatient children's and youth hospice service of the Ecumenical Hospice Service in Böblingen also received funding, as did the gift table Sunday meal, which benefits many people. This shows that with a little commitment a lot of good can be achieved.

With this in mind, the Lions Club is continuing its “Future Impulses” lecture series. On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, everything revolves around collaboration between German research and business - a topic that couldn't be more relevant. The managing director of Innovationsquartier Oldenburg GmbH, Torsten Schröder, will speak about the “Oldenburger Weg” and show how Oldenburg has become an important IT location in the north. The lecture will take place in the Restaurant/Hotel Waldhorn in Holzgerlingen and begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission opens at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but 100 percent of donations are passed on to social projects.

You can also register for this using the form or email kilianasangana@gmail.com necessary. As the Lion's page emphasizes, ideas are often present in the German economy, but their implementation is often difficult. This lecture could provide a lot of food for thought on how to better put ideas into action.

The Lions Club's commitment shows that a lot can be achieved with collective strength, and you too can become part of this inspiring movement!
