The city of Nagold announced today that the upcoming full closure of Kernenstrasse in the area of the train station crossing is already underway and will last until December 13, 2025. The reason for this measure is urgent renovation work on the level crossing. Traffic will be redirected via Lange Straße, Calwer Straße, Emminger Straße, Silcherstraße and back, as the Black Forest messenger reported.
This renovation work is part of a broader plan by Deutsche Bahn that aims to modernize the rail network in Germany. Again ADAC As noted, numerous large construction sites are planned in the coming years. Important routes will be closed for at least five years longer than originally planned. The commuter route between Hamburg and Berlin will also be completely closed until April 30, 2026, which represents a significant challenge for travelers.

The planned renovation measure in Nagold is only a small part of a much larger project in which the federal government wants to invest around 166 billion euros in the infrastructure.
