FC Emmendingen loses derby despite catching up against Bahlingen!

The mood among the fans of the FC Emmendingen football club was depressed on Saturday evening when their team lost 2-1 in the derby against the Bahlinger SC regional league reserve team. The FCE got off to a promising start and were able to create several chances in the early stages, including a goal that was disallowed due to offside. But the euphoria didn't last long, because in the 15th minute Bahlingen surprised with a 1-0 lead with a quick counterattack.

After this setback, FCE found it difficult to get back into the game. The team seemed unsettled and lost the flow of the game. A bright spot for Emmendinger was the red card of a Bahlingen player in the 29th minute for assault. Despite their numerical superiority, the Bahlingers remained dangerous and were even able to hit the post.

The turning point

In the second half, the hosts increased their lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute, which made the situation even more difficult for FC Emmendingen. Nevertheless, FCE didn't give up and reduced the lead to 2-1 in the 82nd minute with a free kick from Marko Radovanovic. But in the end there was no equalizer and so the Emmendingen team had to travel home without any points.

FCE's next opportunity to make amends will be on November 15, 2025, when they play against FSV Stegen in their own stadium. We can only hope that they have a good hand there and can delight the spectators with a positive result again. The FCE line-up in Bahlingen included Yannick Ritter, Fabian Strittmatter (substituted in the 60th minute for Kilian Huber), Jakob Grießbaum, Nebil Vanci (here also a substitution in the 60th minute for Michael Tomm), Marko Radovanovic, Pascal Martin, Luca Kapp, Mahsum Sönmez, Anton Grießbaum (substituted in the 85th minute for Haider Dirani), Noah Gibaja, Celal Öncue and Marcus Mädler.

Furthermore, it should not be forgotten that players also have to prepare for other challenges. The Exam Preparation Journey, a central online portal from Cambridge English, offers helpful tips and materials for teachers to help prepare their students for exams. With practical ideas, mock tests and interactive tools, this could also be important for young athletes who want to meet school requirements alongside football.
