Tim Bengel becomes an ambassador for heart health at the Esslingen Clinic!
Health care is becoming increasingly important in society, and initiatives that promote people's well-being are very popular. A remarkable step in this direction has now been taken at the Esslingen Clinic. The Herzschlägen support association has won the artist Tim Bengel as its new celebrity ambassador. This move is intended to further strengthen commitment to heart health and raise awareness of cardiology issues such as [esslinger-zeitung.de]. Bengel, who is known for his works of art, which he has refined with gold leaf and has already exhibited internationally, is also planning a golf charity tournament on October 11th at the Hohenstaufen Golf Club.
Since its founding in 2008, the Heartbeat Support Association has raised an impressive 1.2 million euros for cardiology at the clinic. The support of this private initiative is an important component, because the clinic's managing director Matthias Ziegler also emphasizes that the clinic is underfinanced and relies on such contributions. Professor Dr. Tillmann Dahmen, chief physician at the cardiology clinic, explains that the facility focuses on routine medical care and is not a research facility.
The person behind the art
Bengel, who also runs a vegan restaurant called “Vhy!” in Stuttgart, studied health management and nutrition. His interest in health and sport is reflected in his commitment. He replaces the previous ambassadors Guido Buchwald and Tobias Unger, and the association hopes to use him to address new target groups. At the upcoming golf charity tournament, Bengel would like to auction off one of his works for a good cause.
Heart health in focus
Current statistics show how important preventive measures are in the area of cardiovascular diseases: Cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death in Germany and cause around 40 percent of all deaths, as the Robert Koch Institute shows. Especially between the ages of 50 and 60, many people experience symptoms of high blood pressure, which is considered a significant risk factor.
The Heartbeat Support Association has set itself the goal of promoting cardiology at the clinic through private initiatives. This is done by investing in modern medical technology, which enables more efficient diagnoses and therapies. Information and lectures in the Old Town Hall offer members and the public the opportunity to find out about cardiovascular topics and to actively participate in health care. There is a need for such educational offerings because modern medicine can help to identify and treat suffering at an early stage.
The combination of art, commitment and medical prevention shows that valuable approaches to the topic of heart health are being pursued in Esslingen. Tim Bengel is not only an artist, but also becomes an ambassador for a cause that benefits many people. Another example of how creative personalities and health actions can go hand in hand.
