Small animal show in Empfingen: A festival for breeders and animals!
A whole weekend full of fluff and feathers is coming up for the residents of Empfingen! Next weekend, the highly acclaimed small animal show of the Empfingen Small Animal Breeding Association will take place in the Täleseehalle. This is a real highlight in the local events calendar and brings together not only breeders, but also animal lovers and families. Over 100 years of tradition in small animal breeding in Empfingen comes to life here, like this Black Forest messenger reported.
A total of 535 small animals are on display, including 325 poultry and 210 rabbits. Breeders from the region present their best animals, and some even have the chance to win awards. Brand new this year: ten poultry breeds and one rabbit breed will be shown for the first time. For the Empfingen small animal breeding association, under the leadership of first chairman Arthur Hellstern, the local show is the highlight of the breeding year.
An event for young and old
The exhibition includes not only the local show, but also important small animal shows by active rabbit and poultry breeders as well as the youth district show of the Tübingen-Horb district association. The latter offers young breeders a valuable opportunity to gain experience. This weekend the Täleseehalle will also shine in autumnal colors, which will add to the festive atmosphere.
With an active club and a strong focus on youth work, the Empfingen small animal breeding association is more than just a collection of breeders; Community is lived here. The association, which was founded in 1921, also offers numerous services, ranging from advice for beginners to keeping chickens to brooding services and holiday care for small animals. This is also confirmed by the club's website: kv-tuebingen-horb.de.
Challenges of small animal breeding
But small animal breeding also has its challenges. The ZDRK recently mentioned how important it is to intensify the exchange between breeding associations. Topics such as recruiting members and animal protection are in the foreground. Breeders and clubs are called upon to stick together and find solutions to combat the decline in membership and at the same time strengthen animal protection.
The small animal show is not only a wonderful opportunity to experience the diversity of breeds, but also a sign that the breeding community stands together and faces the challenges together. Anyone who is interested in animals or would simply like to spend a few nice hours focusing on small animal breeding is cordially invited to visit the exhibition. A good knack for breeding and a love for animals unite the people in Empfingen in a wonderful way.
