Weststadtfest in Heidelberg: Celebrate, make music and help!

A celebration full of life and good mood is coming! From June 27th to 29th, the Weststadt in Heidelberg is celebrating its traditional district festival. The event takes place on Wilhelmsplatz and offers free entry. The organizers have put together a colorful program that has something to offer for young and old. All proceeds from the festival benefit social projects and supporting groups, making the festival not only an entertaining but also a meaningful event. As Heidelberg24 reports, it starts on Friday evening with the young band “Voice Crack”, followed by the DJ “Pink Bubblegum”.

Saturday promises a highlight for the little festival visitors with a clown and the Heidelberg children's circus. There are also play options such as a sandpit, a make-up tent and numerous play equipment. In the evening, the female duo “Fischer & Rabe” delights the audience before the bluesy headliner Veronique Gayot rocks the stage with her band. Sunday starts with a take-away buffet, on which the “Galapagos Big Band” provides musical entertainment, followed by Christoph Melzer and Frowin Ickler, who perform folk covers.

The history and involvement

The district festival in Weststadt looks back on a long tradition. It has been taking place annually since July 4, 1984 and has become an integral part of Heidelberg's event calendar. The history and the actors who have contributed to the success of the festival over the years are also an important part of the celebrations, reports the Summer spectacle Heidelberg.

Anyone who would like to actively participate in this festival is welcome at any time! The organizational team is still looking for numerous helping hands to set up, dismantle and provide food and drink at the drinks and food stands. Celebrating Heidelberg

In addition to the Weststadtfest, Heidelberg offers numerous other events that are organized as part of the district festivals. These not only celebrate life and community, but also culinary delights and a diverse entertainment program. For example, the Bridge Festival takes place in the old town on July 5th and 6th and the Bahnstadt Festival takes place on July 12th. The Emmertsgrunder Cultural Summer, which starts on June 22nd, also awaits the city with concerts and activities for all ages.

Another highlight will be the Heidelberg Wine Village, which will be celebrated in the old town from September 30th to October 12th.
