Despite wearing a helmet, the cyclist suffered fatal injuries when he fell on a gravel path.
A witness discovered the victim around 7 a.m., but no one had noticed him until then. Attentive citizens could make an important contribution to increasing safety on the roads. The Heidenheim police have already started an investigation into the accident, but the exact cause remains unclear for the time being. There are fears that the trend towards serious accidents with e-bikes will continue to increase, given the increasing number of older Pedelec riders.
