A very special festival was celebrated in Heilbronn last weekend, which not only put people in a good mood, but also offered a deep insight into the world of volunteer work. Under the motto *“Of Egg Runs and Carrot Tongues”*, numerous activities took place that brought the community together and were intended to raise awareness of volunteer commitment. The festival not only attracted numerous visitors, but also made the hearts of many volunteers beat faster.
The event was supported by various organizations, including the Workers' Samaritan Association (ASB), which plays a central role in the Heilbronn-Franconia region. With over 2,000 full-time employees and a large number of volunteers, the ASB works around the clock to help people in need. At the festival, visitors were able to get to know the ASB's various offerings, ranging from rescue services to social services.
Activities and engagement
The event offered an exciting mix of games and information. Whether it was an egg run or the popular “carrot tongues” game – there was a lot of laughter and donations here. Each game not only conveyed joy, but also a message of solidarity. The initiators of the festival were available to explain the many facets of volunteering to those interested. “Volunteering is not only a compulsory task, but also an enriching process for everyone involved,” said an ASB spokeswoman.

It turns out again and again that there is a constant need for volunteers in Heilbronn and the surrounding area. "We are happy about every new volunteer who joins our team. This not only strengthens our community, but also enriches the affected people in our environment," explained an ASB volunteer coordinator, who is always dependent on support in his numerous projects. The coming year will bring many new challenges, and ASB relies on people's willingness to stand up for others.
