Bühneli 2.0: Lörrach's small theater is moving - flea market to finance it!

In the heart of Lörrach, the “s’Bühneli-Theater” has an exciting time ahead of it. The board has big plans and would like to transform the theater into a “Bühneli 2.0” at the new location. The move is part of a comprehensive plan to future-proof the small theater. The result will benefit not only the loyal viewers, but also all those who share a passion for the performing arts.

In order to put together the financial backpack for the move and the construction of the new domicile, a large flea market will take place on July 19th in the previous theater rooms. Props, old chairs and furniture will be sold from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A true bargain hunter's paradise that not only breathes history but can also create new memories.

Guest performances and in-house productions

The Bühneli, one of the few amateur theaters in Lörrach that operates all year round, has put together an attractive program. Guest performances are planned at the Theater am Mühlenrain (TAM) in Weil am Rhein on the weekends of November 7th to 8th, November 14th to 15th, December 5th to 6th and December 19th to 20th. On stage will be the play “Chaos,” a three-woman play, which is sure to get a few laughs.

With 108 comfortable seats and a foyer equipped with old period furniture and a small bar, the Bühneli not only offers its guests entertainment, but also a cozy atmosphere. Club members volunteer in all areas of the theater, which creates a strong community. Further information and current schedules are available on the theater website.

New online appearance

A new website will also be launched in mid-August. This will retain the usual concept, but present it in a fresher, “lifted” appearance. It's always important to move with the times and provide viewers with an engaging online experience.

In a broader context, the Association of German Amateur Theaters (BDAT) shows with the publication of the brochure “Förderfinder 2025” how important and necessary support for amateur theater in rural areas is. In times when there is a lack of resources, this brochure is intended to help theater groups find suitable funding programs. Financial support can be crucial, especially for projects like Bühneli, in order to preserve and further develop cultural diversity. Unfortunately, project funding for the service center was discontinued on December 31, 2024, but there is hope that it will resume. BDAT hopes that new opportunities will arise in the future.

The Lörrach cultural scene is facing exciting changes, and the Bühneli will certainly reinvent itself with a breath of fresh air and creative ideas. Keep July 19th free for the flea market in the old theater and support local stage life - it's worth it!
