Wages for scaffolders in the Konstanz district are increasing significantly!

A lot has happened in scaffolding construction in the Konstanz region in the last few weeks. Scaffolders are indispensable for many important jobs, be it painting facades, roofing or even church tower renovations. A look at current developments shows that the industry is on the way to becoming a little more attractive - not least through wage adjustments.

As the Hochrhein newspaper reported, wages in scaffolding construction will increase by 7.5% from November 2023. In the future, an experienced journeyman will see around 225 euros more per month on his pay slip if he works full-time. This is particularly pleasing when you consider that the scaffolders have to stand their ground in a wide variety of weather conditions - sun, rain or cold.

Training and future prospects

Scaffolders also have reason to be happy when it comes to training. IG BAU has campaigned strongly for training remuneration. Trainees in their first year of training will now receive 1,125 euros per month. In the second year the salary increases to 1,300 euros and in the third year there is even 1,550 euros.

There is also very fresh news for 2026: The minimum wage for scaffolders in the Konstanz district will be raised to at least 14.35 euros per hour, which means an increase of 40 cents. In addition, a further wage increase will follow on October 1, 2026 by 4.4% to 20.10 euros. This means that employees can look forward to a continuous improvement in their income.

Additional benefits and collective agreement term

An interesting innovation that will come into force from 2026 is the collective summer loss allowance. Companies can apply for 50 hours of summer loss benefit between May 1st and August 31st, which includes a reimbursement of 75% of hourly wages and 32% of social costs for the company. This could represent significant relief for many companies.

The collective agreement runs until October 31, 2027 and ended after two years with the agreement to increase remuneration. A lot of things will be easier for future skilled workers, as the calculation of wage compensation for part-time workers has also been simplified. In addition, an increase in the additional pension by 10% was agreed, which should continue to make the scaffolding trade more interesting. According to a report on Scaffolding crafts The minimum wage will rise to 14.90 euros per hour in 2027.

These developments could help more people choose a career in the scaffolding trade and further increase the attractiveness of the industry for new skilled workers. After all, scaffolders are not only a key part of the construction industry, but also a field of work with an exciting future.
