Lörrach relies on digital security: protection against cyber attacks!
The digital future is in full swing and the city of Lörrach has decided to actively face this challenge. With the support of Komm. One, a municipal IT service provider in Baden-Württemberg, measures are being taken to strengthen the digital infrastructure and ward off cyber attacks. Jaumann reports on the dangers that threaten, particularly in the form of acts of sabotage, which could bring down websites. Crime has now adapted to ransomware, making the need for robust security measures even more urgent.
To counter these threats, the city of Lörrach has implemented a two-tier security concept. This is in addition to utilizing local security programs designed to protect Komm. One's affiliated members and customers. The public law institution, which is supported 12% by the state and 88% by municipalities, is not only satisfied with the provision of technology, but also sees itself as an advisor and companion in a future that is increasingly characterized by technology.
Digital strategy in administration
The new strategy 2029 for the digital administration of Komm. One was recently presented at the annual meeting of the sponsoring association 4IT in Karlsruhe. Government Gazette reported that CEO William Schmitt emphasized Komm. One's role as a service and information provider for municipalities and citizens. The vision is clear: Komm. One wants to develop from a classic IT system house into a comprehensive service and information platform.
They are even planning a marketplace that will give municipalities and employees direct access to digital solutions. The aim is to improve frequently used specialist procedures through the use of artificial intelligence. The aim is also to develop interoperable standards in order to promote digital transformation into uniform and accelerated processes.
The path to digital administration
But what does this actually mean for daily administrative processes? A holistic solution is required. VDZ emphasizes that it is not enough to just digitize citizen contact. Rather, an end-to-end process must be created that includes all steps of an administrative procedure - from the citizen's first contact to final processing by the authority. The integration of low-code technologies could be a decisive factor here, as they simplify and accelerate application creation.
Overall, cooperation with members from municipalities of all sizes and representatives of local municipal associations is highly valued. Around 600 members critically questioned and discussed proposals, which shows that they are open to local needs. With over 2,000 employees at seven locations in Baden-Württemberg, Komm. One has the potential to make a significant contribution to digital transformation.
In Lörrach we know that the digital future does not stand still. The city relies on a combination of technological progress and a well-thought-out security concept in order to be fit for the challenges of tomorrow. Because one thing is clear: in the digital world you always have to be one step ahead in order not to fall behind.
