Carnival in Kornwestheim: New postcard motif celebrates 55 years of tradition!
In just a few days the time has come: the carnival season starts in Kornwestheim on November 11th. There is already anticipation because the Kornwestheim History and Local History Association and the Kornwestheim Fasnet Guild have come up with something special. A new postcard motif will show the lovingly designed portrait of Garbenstrickle and Früchtle - two parade figures who have been an integral part of the Kornwestheim carnival for 55 years. Stuttgart News reports that on the occasion of the carnival season, the senior guild master Marion Schneebeli is also publishing an article on the history of the carnival in Kornwestheim, which will be included in the club's 2025 history articles.
The Fasnet in Kornwestheim has a long tradition that is even older than the documented records in the city archives. The roots go back to 1935, when the singers' first “carnival concert” took place at the Schwanen Inn. In the following years, this concert developed into a colorful carnival event full of revue elements and costume balls. This is how the Kornwestheim Fasnet guild came into being, which then made a decisive contribution to enriching local customs with the introduction of Garbenstrickle and Früchtle.
Cultural highlight of the region
The association's new history contributions for 2025 comprise an impressive 100 pages and are now available at Bücherlurch, Bahnhofstraße 25, for 9.50 euros. In addition to the book, the 2026 calendar is also available in the same store, which features a special motif page with sheaves and fruits and is available for 9.80 euros. This means there is no room for boredom when it comes to getting in the mood for the carnival season.
The local customs and the colorful atmosphere of Fasnet attract many visitors. The anticipation can be felt not only among the residents of Kornwestheim, but also among many celebrants from the surrounding area. With a good hand for organization and a colorful program, there will be plenty of fun and a good atmosphere.
Don't miss the opportunity to grab one of the new postcard designs or history features as you prepare for the jam-packed carnival season! The Kornwestheimer Fasnet not only offers a piece of history, but also a happy festival that brings the community together.
