SVG Lüneburg sweeps Central Germany 3-0 in the home premiere!

On October 25, 2025, the volleyball players' eagerly awaited home game against the Volley Goats Mitteldeutschland took place in the SVG Lüneburg sports hall. The LüneHünen showed their best side and celebrated a clear 3-0 win (25:17, 25:18, 25:19) in front of 3025 enthusiastic spectators. After an initial recklessness that led to nervousness, SVG quickly took control of the game and impressed with strong performances in attack, receiving, serving and blocking. Coach Stefan Hübner expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance and praised his protégés for their perseverance.

The performance of Axel Enlund, who contributed significantly to the victory with his 18 points as top scorer, was particularly outstanding. The 17-year-old, who is considered a promising talent in Sweden, was recently signed as LüneHünen's new diagonal attacker. Enlund, born in 2007, has already gained extensive experience in the Swedish senior national team and has been awarded best diagonal attacker and MVP at international tournaments. This multi-year contract is intended to offer the young player enough time to develop further and actively shine in the Bundesliga. Enlund will be 18 next year and plans to graduate from high school in Germany.

The path of talent

Axel Enlund, who comes from the small village of Umeå, started his volleyball career in a local club before moving to the RIG Falköping volleyball boarding school in 2023. There he developed rapidly and became the best attacker and top scorer in his league. With his impressive demeanor, he has earned the trust of the new Swedish national coach Gido Vermeulen, who recommends him for the national teams.

The young SVG team relies on talents like Enlund, which has already been successfully practiced in recent years with young players like Axel Larsen, Neo Laumann and Joscha Kunstmann. Hübner sees Enlund as a talented player with maturity for his age and is convinced that he can leave big shoes to fill in the league.

A look at the competition

On the opposing side, the Volley Goats under coach Cristian Imhoff contributed to the exciting competition, but were unable to counter the dominance of the LüneHünen. The guests' best scorer, Samuel Schellenberg, only managed 6 points, while the SVG-Cracks were aiming for a clear victory in their form.

After this remarkable home premiere, expectations are high and the focus is now on the upcoming games, in which SVG Lüneburg wants to continue their upward trend. With talented players like Enlund in their ranks and strong support from the fans, the future of LüneHünen seems bright.
