The eagerly awaited Pink Bowl took place in Aalen's Centus Arena on June 15, 2025, an event that not only made the hearts of football fans beat faster, but also served a good cause. The field was filled with around 4,217 spectators Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns against the Pforzheim Wild Dogs while the entire event was characterized by a harmonious atmosphere.
The Pink Bowl is not only a regular home game for the Unicorns in the ERIMA GFL Regular Season, but it also represents support for the initiative Pink Ribbon Germany. The initiator, Dana Krull, who was struggling with cancer herself, was actively supported by Christina Kempkes, the founder of Pink Ribbon Germany, and Nina Wengertsmann, the CEO of the Unicorns. Together they drew attention to the importance of early breast cancer detection.
Sporting highlights and musical interludes
The event offered a successful combination of sport and entertainment. There was enthusiasm during the half-time break Tim Bendzko the audience with his hits like “I’m not a machine” and “I still have to save the world”. Around 60 cheerleading groups, including Cheer4You, Golden Flames and Cheers Titans Hurricanes, contributed to the positive atmosphere with their rousing performances.
The sporting fairness was also remarkable: despite some physical duels, there were no complaints to the referee. The Unicorns players and coaches conducted training for interested children and young people before the game, which gave the young athletes an inspiring insight into the world of American football.
Commitment to breast cancer early detection
The Pink Bowl is part of the large-scale campaign#TheImportantLitter, which has been drawing attention to the importance of early breast cancer detection in Germany since 2018. A similar initiative is underway in the USACrucial Catchsince 2009 and has become more and more effective over the years. The positive response to the campaign encourages more and more teams to get involved and take part in the campaign. Those interested can register with a simple email and will then receive all the necessary information.
Season ticket holders also have the opportunity to activate their tickets for the game until April 14, 2025, without incurring additional costs. Anyone who would like to waive their season ticket rights can apply for a pro-rata refund.
