On Thursday, July 18th, 2025, a serious motorcycle accident occurred at 2:50 p.m. on the L1165 from Essingen towards Lauterburg. A 30-year-old driver on her Kawasaki swerved to the left in a right-hand bend, which led to a serious collision with an oncoming MAN bus. Luckily, the bus driver stayed in his lane and was uninjured. The 26-year-old KTM rider was able to react too late due to the critical situation and raced into the Kawasaki without being injured either. The motorcyclist, on the other hand, had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the property damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros, as Remzeitung reports.
