Medieval market in Reutlingen: A weekend full of magic and adventure!
The Middle Ages have arrived in Reutlingen's public park. Next Saturday and Sunday the park will be transformed into a lively marketplace from times gone by. The Reutlingen medieval market not only promises a journey through time into the fascinating world of the Middle Ages, but also fun and entertainment for the whole family.
The event is organized by Markus Katz and his team from Fabula Corvinus, who have been ensuring an authentic atmosphere since 2018. Over 58 traders and craftsmen, 34 camp groups and nine restaurateurs will set up their stands and offer a variety of traditional and handmade products. From wooden swords and magic wands to witches' brooms and wild boar skins, there is something for every taste. The little ones don't miss out either: they can make candles and practice with bows and arrows under professional guidance.
A festival of sounds and colors
The atmosphere is enriched by performances by knights in armor and various musical groups. The sounds of bagpipes, drums and the echo of swords clashing combine to create a unique experience. Visitors can look forward to the colorful mix of actors in medieval costumes, artists and culinary delicacies. The restaurateurs offer both savory and sweet dishes, so no one has to go home hungry.
As part of the Reutlinger Schwörtag program, the market celebrates a long tradition. Reutlingen probably received market rights around 1180, which further underlines the historical relevance of the event. At dusk, the glow of torches and candles creates a special atmosphere that will captivate not only fairytale lovers.
