Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns reach Junior Bowl: A victory for eternity!

The U20 of the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns is once again making a name for itself! On August 24, 2025, the young talents thrilled the Hagenbach Stadium with a thrilling semi-final game against the Fursty Razorbacks. In an exciting duel, they won 13:4 and moved into the Junior Bowl for the third time in the club's history. Schwäbische reports that this performance is particularly noteworthy because it is not just a victory, but a deserved entry into the final of the German youth championship.

The Unicorns showed their dominance in the first quarter. A 25-yard pass from quarterback Nico Nußmann to Jaylen Walker put the first points on the scoreboard. After Flavio Tripi's successful PAT, the score was 7-0. This laid the foundation for the rest of the game, which was to be a real game of nerves. Shortly afterwards, Flavio Tripi was able to extend the lead to 10-0 with another 20-yard field goal. The Unicorns' defense held firm, while the Razorbacks found their way into the game better in the second quarter, but were unable to score any points. An important quarterback sack by Christoph Mühlbacher and an interception by Joshua Lewis prevented the Razorbacks from scoring decisive points.

Exciting duel until the end

In the second quarter, the Razorbacks finally managed to get on the scoreboard - but only on a safety when the punt snap went behind the baseline. That made it 10-2 for the Unicorns at halftime. The third quarter remained goalless as both defensive lines showed their strength. In the fourth quarter, Flavio Tripi put the Unicorns ahead 13-2 with another field goal.

The Razorbacks tried to start their comeback, but an interception by Zihad Ali-Tagba thwarted their plans. Ultimately, the Hall team knelt in their own end zone shortly before the end of the game, which gave the Razorbacks two more points - but not the victory. The game ended with 13:4 and 400 enthusiastic spectators cheering for the Unicorns. My Stuttgart highlights that the Unicorns now have another chance to win the title after their previous participations in 1997 and 2016.

Off to the Junior Bowl!

The grand finale of the Junior Bowl 2025 will take place on September 7th at 3 p.m. in the Haller Optima Sportpark. The Unicorns' opponents are the Düsseldorf Panthers, who defeated the Troisdorf Jets with a clear score of 64:17 in the other semifinal. The anticipation for the decisive game is already great and the Unicorns feel ready to take on the challenge and possibly bring the title to Schwäbisch Hall.

The team, cheered on by their fans and in great shape, wants to continue the successful series and continue writing the club's history. If that's not a reason to look forward to the Junior Bowl! The players are eager to prove themselves on the field - and we are excited to see how the young team will perform.
