Luisenklinik Bad Dürrheim buys Haus Hohenbaden: A win for everyone!
There is exciting news in Bad Dürrheim that affects both local healthcare and urban development. The Luisenklinik, known for its comprehensive offerings in the treatment of mental and psychosomatic illnesses, has set itself an ambitious goal: the acquisition of the listed Hohenbaden House. This step represents significant progress for the clinic and the entire region, as Schwarzwälder Bote reports.
Members of the local council recently visited the Luisenklinik to get an impression of the facility and its planned developments. The clinic is not only an important part of health care in Bad Dürrheim, but also the city's largest employer. Mayor Jonathan Berggötz emphasizes that the Luisenklinik can be seen as a model for sustainability and monument protection, which underlines the regional demand for further health and economic development.
Growth with vision
The purchase of the Hohenbaden house is more than just a mediocre purchase. With this initiative, the Luisenklinik is pursuing a strategic growth path in order to create additional therapy offerings and stay options. The building had stood empty for many years, and previous plans to convert it into a health hotel were not realized, as Luisenklinik adds.
The approval of the creditors' meeting following the bankruptcy of the previous owner Ralf Dickscheid in 2019 has now brought a positive turnaround in the usage perspective of the building. Insolvency administrator Martin Mucha speaks of the finality of the standstill, which opens up new opportunities. Despite the challenges such as the vacancy and the associated monument protection requirements, a competitive bidding process was launched to create the best conditions for the Luisenklinik.
A win for Bad Dürrheim
Mayor Berggötz sees the revitalization of the house as a clear benefit for the cityscape as well as for the health and economy of the region. “This development is a stroke of luck for Bad Dürrheim,” said Berggötz. The city plans to continue the exchange with the Luisenklinik in order to sustainably promote the positive development of the location. This not only strengthens clinical care, but the local community also benefits from an upgrade of the surrounding area.
Overall, the expansion of the Luisenklinik shows that the healthcare system in Bad Dürrheim is on the right track and that the future can be shaped through innovative ideas and the courage to seize realizable opportunities.
