New residential building project in Villingen-Schwenningen: 106 rental apartments planned!
In Villingen-Schwenningen, it is clear that work is being done on a new housing project that could have a decisive impact on the region's residential landscape. A modern residential area is now being developed on Schwenninger Sturmbühlstrasse, where old rental apartments from the municipal housing association (WGB) previously stood. The technical committee has approved the project-related “Sturmbühlstrasse” development plan, and the local council is expected to approve it at its next meeting, giving the project another important boost.
But despite all the anticipation, there is a certain hesitation. Rising construction prices and inadequate subsidies are slowing progress and the more expensive loans aren't making it any easier. Nevertheless, the need for affordable rental apartments in this regional center remains high. Several residential buildings and a residents' parking garage are planned on a previously unused area that will breathe life into it in the near future.
Planned living spaces
Another highlight are the planned photovoltaic systems, which are intended to provide sustainable energy and heat is generated using modern air-water heat pumps. The entire construction project will be built according to the KfN40 efficiency building standard and is even aiming for DGNB silver certification, which underlines the environmentally friendly and efficient aspects of the project.
Parking situation and further details
A residential parking garage with 128 parking spaces is being planned on four full floors with a height of almost eleven meters. With these measures, the project clearly shows that it is not only intended to create living space, but also to improve the parking situation in the area. An important step to improve the overall appearance of the district and offer residents a better quality of life.
The funding application is currently with L-Bank, but there is no concrete start to construction yet. Many people are hopeful that the desired measures will soon become reality and that the dream of affordable housing in Villingen-Schwenningen is within reach.
