Speeders in Gosheim: Only 681 speeders out of 500,000 checks!

Only 50 km/h is allowed on the K 5905 in Gosheim, but that doesn't stop many drivers from ignoring the speed limit. As schwaebische.de reports, over 500,000 vehicles were checked on this busy route in 2024, with only 681 speeding violations detected. In detail, this means that most drivers drove within the permitted limits, while a small group of speeders were held responsible.

Of the registered violations, 618 people were only speeding up to 15 km/h. These were punished with a warning fine of up to 50 euros. A particularly bold road user drove past the speed camera at 81 km/h and now has to expect a driving ban of one month as well as two points and a fine of over 200 euros. 62 other speeders were also punished with fines and points. Positive: Overall, no one had to give up their driver's license temporarily.

The situation of traffic safety

KBA Speeding is also the most common offense nationwide. In 2024, a total of 1,865,722 speeding violations were recorded by men and 547,013 by women. These figures are reflected in a large number of other traffic offenses, all of which endanger road safety.

In addition, the official statistics show frightening figures for other administrative offenses: 3,888,334 were recorded in 2024. These include, for example, 380,292 cell phone violations and 319,472 red light violations. What is particularly alarming is the high number of alcohol- and drug-related violations, both of which number in the thousands.
