HSV inspires with an 8-1 win and a new retro jersey!
Hamburger SV started their test match preparations with an impressive 8-1 win against TSV Elstorf. On Saturday, July 5, 2025, around 3,000 fans gathered at the stadium in Neu Wulmstorf to see their team's first performance and they were not disappointed.
Rayan Philippe particularly shone in the first half, scoring two goals in the 4th and 11th minutes. Emir Sahiti and Ransford Königsdörffer added further goals in the 18th and 41st minutes, which fueled the HSV supporters' hopes of a big win. After the break, Robert Glatzel, who scored a hat trick, went one better with goals in the 56th, 67th and 83rd minutes. The only bright spot for Elstorf was Jonah Genterczewsky, who scored the consolation goal in the 60th minute. Hannes Hermann was in goal for Hamburg, supported by defenders like William Mikelbrencis and Sebastian Schonlau.
Jersey instead of a traffic sign: A look at the new equipment
Another highlight of HSV's summer break is the presentation of the new home jersey for the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. The current design is reminiscent of the club's heyday in the 1994/95 season, as hsv.de reports. The classic white jersey with classic black color accents is a real eye-catcher and is complemented by red shorts and blue socks.
Whether athletes or fans, everyone can now enjoy the new design, which is available for men, women and children. The goalkeepers continue to wear a striking yellow outfit and a new pink and purple jersey. For anyone who would like to take a nostalgic look at the history of HSV jerseys, it is worth visiting hsv1887.de, where jerseys from past decades are documented.

In other news, Nicolas Oliveira is leaving HSV and moving to Jahn Regensburg, where he will sign a contract until 2027. HSV has secured a buyback option for the talented player. In addition, Vahid Hashemian, a former HSV player, will become head coach at FC Persepolis in Iran. His experience in the Bundesliga will certainly be an asset for his new club.
