Stadtkapelle Sonthofen impresses with the sounds of bridges at the music festival in Ulm!

At the German Music Festival in Ulm, a delegation from the Sonthofen town band for musical highlights. The motto of the festival was “Music builds bridges!” and attracted bands from all over Germany who gave their best. The focus was particularly on the collaboration between the Sonthof youth brass band and the Thalfingen Music Association, who played in a fully occupied beer tent for around 1,000 enthusiastic listeners.

The musical performance was a complete success: the performances by the town band and the music club lasted over two hours. The musicians describe the event as an incredible experience that not only strengthens team spirit, but also promotes the connection between different brass bands.

Collaboration for the future

In the spirit of brass music, there is also, as usual, good collaboration elsewhere in Sonthofen. After a three-year break, this happened New Year's Eve bubbles took place, which was celebrated as a beautiful musical end to the year. The event highlighted the importance of donor and sponsor support to the local music scene. The Sonthofen brass bands, including the Dorfmusik Berghofen, the Altstädten music band, the Sonthofen city band and the Sonthofen youth brass band, are working on joint youth training.

The initiative aims to promote young musicians and preserve the brass music tradition in Sonthofen. Particular attention is paid to the youth brass band, which is intended to function as a training orchestra for the adult clubs. This official collaboration was launched in September 2023, led by Vincenz Kling, who was hired as the new conductor on June 22, 2022.

Education and inspiration for musicians

In addition to the impressive performances, various educational opportunities in the field of music are available. Festival meetings like Saxophonia, Clarimondo and others offer workshops, courses and masterclasses for all ages and experience levels. These offers are not only an excellent opportunity for exchange, but also a platform for young talents to inspire and develop further in the music scene.
