Saalfasnet in Vöhrenbach: A weekend full of joy and surprises!

In Vöhrenbach the anticipation is growing because the Vöhrenbacher Saalfasnet is just around the corner. Next Saturday, January 24th, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, January 25th, at 6 p.m., the doors will open to the popular cap evenings, which are intended to delight both locals and guests. The hall opens an hour in advance so that everyone can find their place in time. The Black Forest Messenger reports that preparations have been in full swing for weeks. The guard dancers are busy rehearsing for their performance in a South American flair, while the Sublodere Hans group provides the festive decorations.

A highlight of the events will be the appearance of Princess Stefanie I and Prince Martin IV, who will be entertained with anecdotes from their everyday lives and their hobbies. The program also includes classic hand-written speeches in which local peculiarities are addressed in a humorous way. Petra Gulde-Esterle will provide the best entertainment with theatrical performances and speeches. Antal Szegö and Sven Schätzle bring stories with unexpected twists to the stage. The event will be accompanied musically by Martina Hummel and Antonia Ketterer, and Helgas Schwer and Claudia Vollmer will also lighten the mood.

Tradition and conviviality

The cap evenings are not only a tradition, but also the result of the dedicated work of the Frohsinn local guild, which was founded in 1949. This guild follows on from the centuries-old tradition of the “Great Carnival Society”, which was founded in Vöhrenbach around 1900. Their goal is to bring the local carnival into the 20th century while preserving the roots of the Vöhrenbach carnival. On the website of the municipality of Vöhrenbach It is noted that the guild not only organizes cap evenings, but also carries out the Great Monday Parade, which is very popular in the region.

Particularly noteworthy is the carnival figure “Sublodere-Hans”, which was created by the local guild and has established itself as a real figurehead of the event. The guild also contributes to the preservation of local history, including through the creation of a planned local history museum in the club buildings, which are known as the “Watchmaker’s House” and “House of the Local Guild”.

Practical information

If you want to experience the cap evenings live, you should secure your tickets quickly. These are available at the town hall, and a box office is also offered on the days of the event. The KSV 1900 Vöhrenbach team takes care of your physical well-being, and the Vöhrenbach town band is responsible for the musical accompaniment. The combination of traditional program and the special flair of Fasnet promises an unforgettable experience for all participants.
