Children are our future, and it is precisely for this future that the Altötting District Youth Association has launched a very special project. The aim is to enrich life in the Altötting district with the sweet cuddly toy “Anton”, a donkey that is specially designed to offer comfort and a warm hug to children in difficult situations. This initiative was launched under the new leadership of Managing Director Maximilian Winter in September 2025, and the goal is clear: to create innovative approaches and better networking within the district. The toys, which are also known as transitional objects, have a high emotional value for children. According to child psychologist Gesa Steinberg, stuffed animals help ease the transition from the relationship with the mother to further social interactions. “Anton” and his fellow dogs offer security and support, especially in challenging life situations. A particularly creative idea is the production of Anton's own song, which was created using contemporary technologies. The project is not just limited to Anton the donkey.
