BRK Amberg starts with new management and strengthens youth work!

In Amberg, the youth work of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) is being strengthened, as the volunteers have initiated a new term of office. Nicolas Stoffregen remains the head of the Amberg 1 standby, while Anita and Claus Simon can continue their involvement in the Amberg 2 standby. The collaboration between the two team strengths is described as efficient and flexible, which should benefit the city of Amberg and the Amberg-Sulzbach district mittelbayerische.de reported.

The newly established on-call youth team under the committed duo Hannah Reichhardt and Tobias Schneider is also bringing new impetus to youth work. Its goal is to inspire young people to volunteer. The BRK readiness as the “backbone” of the Bavarian Red Cross is of crucial importance, as well brk.de confirmed.

New faces in the team

The managers of the BRK Amberg rely on proven management and bring a breath of fresh air into the team. Ulrike Jakob and Franziska Rubenbauer take on the position of deputy standby managers at Amberg 1. Franziska Rubenbauer in particular also has the important role of disaster control officer, while Tim Kraus works as vehicle and technology officer. This means that the organization places a strong focus on sustainable promotion of young talent.

With around 100 active emergency services, the Amberg emergency services are involved in a variety of areas. In addition to disaster control and humanitarian aid, they support events with their medical security service. “The provision for young people on standby is extremely important,” explains Hannah Reichhardt. Children can become members from the age of six and switch to active service from the age of 16.

Volunteering

Volunteering not only means contributing to the community in general, but also providing a roof over your head and creating a supportive environment. The German Red Cross (DRK) is always looking for new, energetic helpers. Be it in senior care, medical services at events or even in supporting refugees, as on drk.de is highlighted. Everyone can actively participate without any prior knowledge being necessary – training courses are offered to get newcomers on the right path.

In summary, it can be said that the BRK's volunteers in Amberg not only fulfill important tasks, but also offer a valuable platform to prepare young people for volunteer work and to develop social skills. There is something there, and in more ways than one!
