91.7 million euros for Amberger Klinikum: the future of health secured!

What's happening in Amberg? A significant step for local healthcare is being announced today: this St. Marien Hospital receives an impressive 91.7 million euros from the Bavarian State Government's hospital program. This massive funding is part of the 2030 hospital construction program, which includes a total of nine projects with a total volume of around 466 million euros. A clear focus here is on sustainable medical care close to home that meets the needs of the population.

Specifically, the clinic is planning a series of structural measures that will significantly improve inpatient care. These include, among other things, the ring closure, the expansion of the children's clinic, obstetrics as well as general care and intensive care medicine. A modern isolation ward will also be set up to ensure the highest standards of medical care.

Sustainable investments for the region

The importance of these investments for the Amberg region cannot be overestimated. Bavaria's hospital funding budget was increased from 643 million to 800 million euros. Projects with a total volume of around 5.5 billion euros are planned in the hospital construction program by 2030. Over 62 percent of the funding goes to clinics outside of large metropolitan areas. In this way, the state government shows that rural regions are also supported and that supplies there are secured in the long term.

The state parliament member Bernhard Heinisch has also campaigned for the future of the St. Anna Hospital in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, which underlines the commitment to first-class medical care in the entire region.

High standards at St. Marien Hospital

The St. Marien Hospital itself has established itself as a competent partner in the field of medical care. Not only does it offer high medical standards, but also an outpatient surgery center (AOZ) that offers outpatient surgeries in a variety of specialist areas. The list of specialties ranges from trauma surgery to neurosurgery to gynecology. This creates the ideal conditions for specialists and patients.

The modern technology of the AOZ enables a direct connection to the clinic, which ensures comprehensive care and pain-free discharge after the procedure. The close collaboration between specialists and general practitioners also ensures seamless follow-up care - a real benefit for everyone affected. A virtual 360° tour of the AOZ premises also offers those interested the opportunity to get an impression in advance.

Overall, the signs in Amberg point to progress and quality in healthcare - an issue that affects everyone and that will continue to accompany us in the future.
