Bavarian Cup: TSV 1860 Munich meets SC Reichmannsdorf!
The draw for the first round of the Bavarian Cup for the 2025/26 season took place on July 11, 2025. A total of 64 teams from the district class to the 3rd league are taking part. This is of course a reason to be happy for football fans in Bavaria, because the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) has two starting places for the DFB Cup up for grabs - one of them in the league, the other in the state cup, as diefalsche9.de reports.
There are also four third division clubs among the participating clubs: TSV 1860 Munich, FC Ingolstadt, Jahn Regensburg, which was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga, and 1. FC Schweinfurt, which is considered a promoted team. Defending champions in the Bavarian Cup are FV Illertissen, who prevailed in the final against SpVgg Unterhaching.
The draw and exciting encounters
A special format this year is the “wishless principle”, which allows the 22 district cup winners to choose their preferred opponent. SC Reichmannsdorf, a district league team from Upper Franconia, has decided to play against TSV 1860 Munich. Toto Cup and its tradition
The Toto Cup, which has been held since 1998, is another highlight in the Bavarian football calendar. The winner qualifies for the first round of the DFB Cup the following year. SV Illertissen is currently the defending champion, as can be found on bfv.de. The record holder is SSV Jahn Regensburg with five titles, while TSV 1860 Munich last won the cup in 2020.
