Viktoria Aschaffenburg separates from the coaching team – a new chapter begins!

On November 11, 2025, SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg took a decisive step and mutually ended the collaboration with head coach Aytac Sulu, assistant coach Dusan Drakulic and sporting director Sandro Sirigu. This step follows an in-depth analysis of the club's sporting orientation, which made it clear that different views between the new board and those responsible for sport led to this decision. Felix Magath, the newly appointed sports director, emphasizes that the separations did not come about because of the sporting failures, but rather because of differing ideas about the club's long-term direction and financial conditions.

SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg is currently in third-to-last place in the Bavarian Regional League and has only scored 13 points from 17 games so far this season, which puts the club in a relegation place. In this context, the search for a new strategic direction is particularly urgent. According to bfv.de, responsibility for the team will now be taken over on an interim basis by Daniel Soldevilla and Jürgen Bleistein, both of whom were part of the coaching team until the summer and are very familiar with the club structures and some of the players are familiar.

New course for Viktoria Aschaffenburg

As the analysis showed, the separation of Sulu, Drakulic and Sirigu is the result of a deadlocked opinion-forming process within the club's management team. Felix Magath explains that the decision is based on different points of view on a new sporting direction. At the same time, the filling of the position of sporting director will be discussed in the coming weeks in order to set a clear line for the future of Viktoria Aschaffenburg.

So the team faces a challenge to make decisions in favor of an upward trend. An important game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth II awaits next Saturday, in which the new interim coaching duo can demonstrate their skills. The coming period will show whether the restructuring will be fruitful.
